Are you a developer looking to expand your knowledge of infrastructure, but find most tutorials are too sysadmin-focused?
Are you a self-hoster or indie hacker who wants to securely and efficiently run your own applications on your own terms?
Are you curious about what lies beyond the "how to install X" articles, like how to piece everything together into real systems and troubleshoot issues?
Or how to build platforms that automate the repetitive tasks, so you don't have to?
You're in the right place.
I write articles and hands-on guides based on real-world experience, tailored for developers, self-hosters, and indie hackers.
What You'll Find Here
When I started my infrastructure journey a decade ago, I was eager for knowledge. I read many books and tutorials, took many courses, but none of them gave me what I needed. They were well-written, quality content by professionals, but most of them were:
- reference books about a wide range of topics
- disconnected pieces of information, "how to install X", "how to configure Y" tutorials
- content for ops people who want to get certified or level up their career
But very few of them were about how to build real systems from these. How to troubleshoot when things go wrong.
Unfortunately, this kind of experience is often only gained if you're part of an ops team in a company with large-scale infrastructure.
I started this blog to share this knowledge and write the content I wish I had back then:
- Deep dives into Linux, infrastructure, networking fundamentals, focusing only on what matters
- Building tools, automations, and processes that do the work for you
- Troubleshooting based on actual scenarios
- Behind-the-scenes looks at production infrastructure, from side projects to high-traffic systems
Check out the Linux Inside Out series for example, where I'm writing about demystifying Linux by building up a mental model from layer to layer with hands-on experiments.
